Bodyworkers

As bodyworkers, we skillfully perform techniques on the body to achieve particular results. This usually involves having an idea about how the body should be. With DST, we impose nothing on the body and use specialized gentle touch with focused dialogue to listen to the states of the body and nervous system that may be underlying physical symptoms. When the body feels truly listened to, it reveals the way to deeper relaxation and nervous system re-regulation. This approach can augment your bodywork and support much deeper and lasting results, including lower stress, reduced chronic pain, improved posture, and improvement with health syndromes or chronic medical conditions. We don’t diagnose, treat, or cure any medical conditions. We support the underlying health of the organism while facilitating the body to regulate the nervous system. The varied and gentle hands-on approach will help save your hands for a lifetime. The dialog process in DST is suitable and appropriate for bodyworkers who want the skills of a therapist and the clear boundaries on how to not do psychotherapy.

Somatic Trauma Therapists

Somatic therapists can have access to DST’s refined micro-movements, done hands-on or with  therapist-facilitated supportive self-contact. Combined with our focused dialogue, DST can enhance your clients’ experiences and safely accelerate results of trauma resolution. This process also extends beyond trauma to life expansion and self-actualization. We at DST believe that the best way to heal the past, when the client is ready, is to move forward in a safe, gradual way. We provide the safe space, and clients access their inner resources with our supportive touch and dialogue. This individualized support facilitates a healing of the past, organization of the present, and a bright orientation to the future. Past, present, and future can come into focus with DST. If you have studied any other somatic disciplines, you will find that DST is easy to learn, and can compliment your work, with unique micro-movements that have been retooled and adapted for trauma therapy from Ortho-Bionomy, osteopathy, and bioenergetics.

Psychotherapists

We, at DST, often get referrals from other psychotherapists wanting to augment their client’s care. Why not add DST and augment your practice instead? We know you are experts at communication. The DST dialogue process will be intuitive for you and is geared to steer clients away from endless stories and guide them to the life themes that lead to somatic wisdom. We will show you when and how to help clients slow down and pause reflectively at the key moments to access their somatic wisdom and use it to change their stories. Past, present, and future can be tracked and organized, and insights can come into focus in an organic and safe way with more understanding and less chaos. With DST touch and dialogue, your clients can feel truly heard on a body level and feel invited to deepen into their felt-sense bodies where the true answers to their real questions lie. For therapists who do not engage in touch, DST is perfect for therapist-facilitated supportive self-contact, which also lends itself perfectly to online therapy practice.

Holistic Practitioners

For holistic practitioners, DST can access primary health reflexes and processes that can make your healing modalities more efficient and effective. Without imposing any external paradigms, you can offer a truly holistic way for your clients to experience themselves. This can make them more receptive to any treatments you may offer. Beyond receptivity, DST is a form on nervous system re-regulation that can help the body reset the basic timing of its systems and also help resolve over and under-functioning of various systems. It’s like a master reboot or reset process that can add a somatic dimension to your treatments. The dialog process can safely support you in being a mind-body therapist without being burdened with being a psychotherapist. Over thirty thousand hours of clinical experience and thirty years of training went into the development of DST. DST also lends itself very well to online practice.
