Beyond Trauma and the Slingshot Effect is a deeper exploration of what becomes possible when we stop organizing all healing around injury alone and begin recognizing the larger forces that move life forward from within.

This course invites practitioners into a broader and more generative model of somatic facilitation — one that includes trauma, but is not limited by it.

Here we look beyond symptom reduction and outdated notions of simply restoring someone to a prior level of functioning. We begin instead to ask a different question:

What is trying to emerge through the person, even now?

At the heart of this training is a profound shift in orientation. Rather than focusing only on what has been broken, overwhelmed, or constrained, we begin to recognize the body’s deeper movement toward coherence, wisdom, and internally guided life.

• Work from a healing model that is larger than trauma, while fully including trauma
• Understand why “restoring clients to previous functioning” is no longer enough
• Develop an orientation to life that is fundamentally and unconditionally positive
• Recognize growth, forward movement, and internally based life goals that arise from within rather than social conditioning
• Understand the Slingshot Effect and how it supports movement into life
• Deepen your understanding of somatic wisdom and how to facilitate it
• Hold the client’s larger picture, even when they cannot yet feel or imagine it themselves
• Establish true containment and distinguish it from suppression or repression
• Explore a new understanding of existential suffering and how it can become a gateway to growth
• Find yourself more fully in the process of somatic facilitation
