Sergio Ocampo

Sergio Ocampo is a Board Director of the Somatic Experiencing International, Adjunct faculty at Antioch University, teaching facilitator with Dr. Peter Levine’s Ergos Institute of Somatic Education, Licensed Psychotherapist and Somatic Experiencing Practitioner. Having traveled the world, Sergio is fluent in four languages and embraces a large cultural experience.

Focusing on healing the effects of generational and early life trauma emerging from physical, sexual, birth, abandonment, or emotional abuse is central to Sergio’s work. His approach is gentle and humanistic in permanently resolving suffering and emotional overwhelm stemming from complex traumatic experiences. Sergio incorporates both somatic and cognitive interventions such as Somatic Experiencing, DST, Family Systems, Generational Trauma Resolution, Dream Work, Depth / Spiritual Psychology, and EMDR.

Sergio researches and publishes on the topic of Generational Trauma and healing historical wounds, proposing that anyone can achieve happiness no matter how difficult or traumatic their family history has been.
His recent article in the Therapist Magazine is the first to be published on the practice of Somatic Experiencing and Somatic Generational Trauma Resolution in literature meant for practicing therapists.
Sergio’s motto is:  Anxiety and Depression are not a life sentence, but a temporary discomfort.
